JUDY JOHNSON, Winterset

Judy Johnson, 60, of Winterset died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at her home near Winterset.

A memorial gathering will be held 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 31, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, where her family will be present to receive friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, at Ochiltree’s with burial to immediately follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Judith Ellen Terpstra, daughter of Robert and Mary (Slycord) Terpstra, was born Oct. 18, 1954, in Pella. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1973. Judy’s marriage to Randy Johnson took place on March 4, 2007, in Florida. During her working years Judy was a preschool teacher for Head Start in Winterset at the First Presbyterian Church. She also did respite care for families taking care of relatives with disabilities and was a dietary aid at the Winterset Care Center North.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, R. C. Johnson; and infant twin brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Johnson of Winterset; children, Nick Hamilton of Winterset; Nicole Hamilton of Ankeny; Lucas (Mallory) Johnson of Winterset; daughter-in-law, Kandi Johnson of Winterset; brothers, Randy Terpstra of Pella; Mike (Marcia) Terpstra of New Sharon; sister, Connie (Jerry) Dowell of Pella; seven grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
