Marjorie J. (Anderson) Welch, 78, of Huntley, Ill., died peacefully with her family at her side on July 11, 2015, at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.
Mrs. Welch was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Iowa City, Iowa, and was the daughter of Dr. Glenn J. Anderson and Dr. Evelyn M. Olson Anderson of Winterset, Iowa. After graduating from Winterset High School, she attended Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Mo. After two years, she decided on a working career before becoming a homemaker, great cook and mother by marrying her high school sweetheart Paul Welch in 1958.
Her parents and in-laws Roland and Betty Welch of Winterset preceded her in death.
Her husband, Paul of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters Trisha (Michael) Dailey of Gainesville, Va., and Lori (David) Schock of Hampshire, Ill.; two grandsons, Christopher and Jonathan Dailey of Gainesville, Va.; a brother, Dr. Carl F. (Virginia) Anderson of Rochester, Minn.; and her much-loved nieces (Elizabeth, Mary and Catherine) and nephews (Mark and Carl Jr.) survive her.
Future services will be private. Mrs. Welch’s ashes will be scattered at her favorite place amongst the Superstition Mountains, ponds, fountains, and baby ducks under a beautiful blue Arizona sky.
The family has set up a Marjorie J. Welch Memorial at the Wells Fargo Bank AZ (365 S. Power Road, Mesa AZ 85206). Memorial gifts will be used to provide additional BiPap breathing equipment for emphysema patients at the Banner Baywood Medical Center ICU Unit in Mesa, AZ. The ICU staff were our “angels” during Marge’s final days.
