Mrs. George Garner died Monday, January 2, at her home on East Jefferson street, after an illness of eight days. Mrs. Garner had not been in good health for several years and since the death of Mr. Garner a year ago, she has not been able to regain her strength. She became seriously ill about a week ago.
Mrs. Garner, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Decker, was born in Knox county, Missouri, moving to this county with her parents when she was fifteen years of age. She was married to Mr. Garner in 1873. They both took an active interest in lodge work, he in the Knights of Pythias, and she in the Pythian sisters.
Mrs. Garner is survived by three brothers, James Decker, of Peru; Melvin, of Des Moines and Anthony, of Ft. Cobb, and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Porter, of Lorimor. Rev. A. P. Least conducted the funeral services at the Tidrick funeral home, Wednesday afternoon, January 4th, and the interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.
