Dayton Eldon Pryor, son of Samuel and Eliza Barnett Pryor was born near Greenfleld, Iowa on June 3, 1870 and passed away at his home in Stuart on February 24, 1955, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 21 days. He was the youngest of two children. His sister preceded him in death several years ago. Mr. Pryor lived most of his life on farms near Earlham and Stuart.

In 1892 he was united in marriage with Edna Eversull. To this union four sons were born. His son Glen preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Edna of Stuart and his three sons, Clarence of Earlham; Ray of Des Moines and Walter of Indianapolis, Indiana.

There are six grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Pryor and his wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary three years ago.

Services were conducted from the Lion Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, February 27th by Rev. Ernest Smith. Music was furnished by Bert Russell as soloist and Mrs. Wilma Miller as pianist. Helen Conrad and Bessie Mapes were in charge of the flowers. Casket bearers were: Herman Schafer, Roland Conrad, Guy Moore, Leo Mapes, Stanley Williamson and Ross Reynolds. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.

DAYTON E. PRYOR BURIED AT EARLHAM

Dayton E. Pryor, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died suddenly Monday, Feb. 24, at his home in Stuart. Mr. Pryor was 84 years of age. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Pryor was born near Greenfield on June 3, 1870, a son of Samuel and Eliza Barnett Pryor. Most of his life was spent on farms near Earlham and Stuart.

Surviving are his wife, the former Edna Eversull to whom he was married in 1892; three sons, Clarence of Earlham, Ray of Des Moines and Walter of Indianapolis, Ind; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

He and his wife had celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary two years ago.

Funeral services were held Feb. 27 from the Lynn Funeral home in Stuart, conducted by the Rev. Ernest Smith. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
