Laura Peterson Olson, was born July 6, 1866 on island of Moen, Denmark and died February 25, 1915, near Truro, age 48 years, 7 months and 19 days.

At age of 24 she came to her brother in this country, 1st at Mason City, then Marshalltown. She married Perry Olson, January 7, 1896. They came to Madison county that year. 4 children, 3 daughters, 1 son. Lourene, oldest died February 1, 1915 at age 18. Surviving are Nina May 16, Helen 12, Kenneth 5. 4 brothers, 1 sister all in Denmark except for 1 brother in Minneapolis. (Burial at the St. Charles cemetery)

Winterset, Iowa

Mrs. Perry Olsen died at her home near the Banner school house in Ohio township last Friday. Her funeral was preached here in the M. E. church b the pastor, Rev. Piper, last Sabbath at 1 o’clock, and the remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery by the side of her daughter Louvena Olsen, who died February 2d. Two deaths in one home in just 24 days, mother and daughter, a very sad bereavement indeed to those left behind.
