Mrs. Jane Cason Smith, wife of Simpson Smith and sister of W. T. Cason, died at her home at Bradford, Colorado, Feb. 21, (1890) aged 56 years and 21 days. She died of pneumonia preceeded by la grippe.

Mrs. Smith and her husband were early settlers in Madison county being the first couple married in this county; their marriage took place April 19th, 1849.
