It is with feelings of sadness almost to deep for words that we record the death of little Oren Mease, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Mease. They have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community and we pray that they may become reconciled to the fact that it is only one more link to bind them to heaven. It seems almost incredible to think that only three short months ago little Orin was in school and is now an angel, but what is our great loss we know is his great gain. (a lengthy poem follows)

Note: Transcribed as pubished, first name is "Orin", buried at Ebenezer cemetery.
