Pauline Campbell, daughter of Leo Thomas Seymour and Beulah Mae Hunt Seymour was born August 2, 1925 in Carlisle, Iowa and passed from this life Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Mission Palms in Mesa, AZ at 89 years of age.
Pauline received her education from the St. Mary's High School graduating with the class of 1942. During her years in high school Pauline met the love of her life and later was united in marriage to Thorman Ray Campbell on April 11, 1944 at Avon, Iowa. Pauline and Thorman recently celebrated seventy-one years of marriage which was blessed with three children, Charlotte, Diane and Connie as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pauline began her working career soon after her marriage working for the Post Office in Wick, Iowa. In 1945, she and Thorman purchased what became their family farm near St. Charles. In addition to farming, Pauline also built campers in the 1960's and later ventured to Des Moines to work at National Handcraft.
In 1980, Pauline and Thorman's hard work on the farm ended and they moved to St. Charles. It was around this time that Pauline ventured into a new position at RoBanks with Charlotte and Roger.
Through the years, Pauline filled her life with Thorman participating in church activities at the St. Charles Parish Church, Order of the Easter Star, card clubs, camping with the Rolling Wheels Camping Club and square dancing just to name a few. Pauline also loved camping at the Iowa State Fair, a tradition that has lasted sixty-eight years. The past years have been filled with some traveling and sight-seeing as well as more than twenty-five winters in Arizona.
Those relatives who have preceded Pauline in death were her parents; infant brother, Robert Seymour; grandson, Darren Chanas and her sister, Helen Bauer.
Pauline leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Thorman Ray Campbell of St. Charles, IA; daughters, Charlotte (Roger) Banks of St. Charles, IA, Diane (Mike) Chanas of Des Moines, IA, Connie (Stan) Barnard of Urbandale, IA; extended family, Elaine (Dennis) Knudtson of Grimes, IA, grandchildren, Rachel Banks of Defiance, IA, Randy Banks of Norwalk, IA, Brandon Chanas of Altoona, IA, Alanna (P.J.) LaMunyon of Des Moines, IA, Chad Barnard of Waukee, IA, Jenna Theoflo of Urbandale, IA, Nicholas Barnard of Detroit, MI; seven great-grandchildren, Elaine and Dennis's children, Shaylee (Brett) VanderVelden and their children of Grimes, IA, Eric (Tiffany) Knudtson of Pflugerville, TX; sister, Rosa George of St. Marys, IA as well as many other relatives and a host friends.
