Mr. William Petty of Perry, Iowa, and a former resident of this community was instantly killed in a fall while at work Monday of last week. Mr. Petty was employed by the railroad and was icing a refrigerator car in the yards at Perry when the ice tongs broke letting him fall sixteen feet and striking his head on the rails. Funeral services were conducted Thursday of last week at the funeral home in Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Carey attended the services. Mr. Petty is survived by his wife, five daughters and one son.
