December 1901Nancy Alice Hiatt died at the home of her parents in Truro, Iowa, Saturday morning, December 28, 1901, Mrs. Nancy Alice Hiatt, aged 43 years 2 months and 23 days.
Mrs. Hiatt came over from Peru on Christmas morning to visit her parents and took sick immediately on arrival here and every thing that loving hands could do was done but of no avail and she passed away on Saturday morning.
She gave her heart to God at the age of 16, and at time of death was a member of the Christian
church. She leaves a father, mother, sister, 4 brothers, a husband, daughter and two sons to mourn her loss. All was present at the funeral, except her daughter who was in Nebraska.The funeral was held at the Christian church on Sunday by Rev. Burnham and attended by a large audience of sympathizing friends, after which the remains were conveyed to the Peru cemetery.
We hear that Mrs. Hiatt was a member of the Yeoman lodge. The Huff hearse of St. Charles was in attendance at the funeral Sunday.

January 2, 1902Mrs. Webb Hiatt of this place, died on Saturday morning at the home of her parents in Truro, where she had gone to spend Christmas. Mrs. Hiatt had been in poor health for some time. She leaves a husband, 2 sons and a daughter.

St. CharlesThe St. Charles undertaker, Mr. T. F. Hoff, was called to Truro with his hearse on Sunday morning to assist in the funeral of Mrs. Webb Hiatt of near Peru, which occurred on that day. Interment at the Peru cemetery.
