Obituary

Nathanal Hayden was born in Fleming county, Kentucky, May 5, 1834. He moved to Illinois when he was eleven years of age. In 1856 he was married to Mahala Bradley and ten years later they moved to Madison county, Iowa, where he has lived for forty-four years. His wife preceded him to the better world March 25, 1908.

Eight weeks previous to his death he was thrown from a hack which resulted in breaking his left hip. Three days before his death he had an attack of pneumonia which hastened the end. He died at his home in Truro Monday, Nov. 21st at 4:45 a.m.

He leaves four sons, William Thos., Elijah, Charles Jackson and Perry Wallace, and three daughters, Anna B. White, Sarah Elizabeth McGlothlin and Nora Elza Walker. All of whom were present except two. Also sixteen great grandchildren and eight grandchildren to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father. Also a sister and a host of relatives and friends who mourn the loss of a brother, friend and neighbor.

He became a member of the Christian church about 27 years ago and has ever since lived a devoted Christian life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral services were held at the Christian church at this place conducted by Rev. D. M. Heiferstine, of Des Moines. Interment was made in the Peru cemetery.

Truro

N. A. Hayden died last Monday and the funeral was held from the Christian church Tuesday at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. Heiferstine of Des Moines. Burial in the Peru Cemetery.
