December 1901On Monday morning death came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ellis and took from them their son, Carey. He was a young man just entering upon a life of usefullnes; was of moral habits and of a very quiet disposition and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. His illness was of only about a month's duration. His funeral was conducted by Rev. S. C. Howe and was laid away in the Ebenezer cemetery.

TruroDied, Dec. 2nd, Cary Ellis after a lingering illness with lung trouble and dropsy. He was an honest upright young man and will be missed in the church and neighborhood. He was laid to rest in the Ebenezer cemetery Tuesday.
