Thursday, February 15, 1906Jane Crawford was born in Lawrence county, Indiana, April 14th, 1824, and died February 4th, 1906. She was married to Jerry Pender on February 13th 1846, and to this union were born 11 children, four of whom survive her. Mrs. Pender came to Madison county in 1849 and with the exception of 11 years in Kansas, has resided in Madison county ever since.
The funeral services were held on Monday and the remains gently laid to rest in the little Baptist cemetery, just north of town.

The death of Mrs. Jane Pender added another name to the long list of pioneer men and women who have died in 1906. Mrs. Pender lived many years near Buffalo with her husband, coming to Madison county in an early day.
She was born in Lawrence county, Indiana in 1824 and died February 4, 1906. Four of her eleven children are living. She was a consistent member of the Predestinarian Baptist church. The burial was at the Baptist cemetery north of the city.
