Margaret N. Dowler was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania October 15th, 1829 and died December 28th, 1893, being 64 years old. She was married to Benjamin Moore January 20th, 1848, whom she now leaves in sorrow, with one son and four daughters. In 1853, she united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church at Greenfield, Pennsylvania and was a member of the same until removal to Iowa in the spring of 1867, when she united by letter with the United Presbyterian church in Winterset. Hers was a home life in which she was a model wife and mother. The funeral was held in the Maple Grove Evangelical church, Friday, December 29th, the sermon being preached by the pastor, Rev. G. W. Plumer.

The funeral services were held at the Maple Grove church, and were conducted by Rev. G. W. Plummer. He preached the funeral discourse from the text: “Prepare to meet thy God.” He delivered a very good discourse and we hope it may have its effects upon its hearers. After the funeral discourse, she was buried in the Winterset cemetery.
