Death of Mrs. Kleatsch

Mrs. Godfried Kleatsch died at her home in the south part of the city, on March 5th. Mrs. Kleatsch had not been well for some time, but her death came unexpectedly to her family. Mrs. Kleatsch was born in Ohio August 26, 1849. She was married to Godfried Kleatsch on Nov. 24, 1870, they had four children, Otto, Maud, Ora, and Della. Funeral services were held at the home on March 7th, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis, and the body laid to rest in Rock City Cemetery.

Obituary—Mrs. Gottfried Kleatsch

Christina Schnellbacher was born in Ross county, Ohio, Aug. 26, 1849, and came with her parents to Madison county in 1856. Departed this life Sunday, March 5, 1955, aged 61 years 6 months and 6 days. She was converted at the age of 16 and united with the Evangelical church and in 1889, united with the Baptist church at Winterset. On November 22, 18—she was united in marriage to Godfried Kleatsch. Four children came to bless this union: Otto, Maude, Ora and Della, these with the husband, the aged mother, three brothers, four sisters, two grandchildren and a host of friends remain to mourn the loss of a loving companion and mother and true friend. She had been sick for some time and yet her death came unexpectedly to her family.

The beautiful songs “Under His Wings”, “Shall we Gather at the River” and “God Be With You Till We Meet Again”, were sung at the funeral services, held at the home on March 7th, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Interment was made in Rock City cemetery.
