Dolores, 90, passed away February 22, 2015 at Community Care Center in Stuart. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at First Presbyterian Church of Grimes, with visitation beginning at 10.
Dolores Ilene, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Keltner) Dunbar, was born February 27, 1924 in Dallas County. She married Lyle Summy in September of 1941. Dolores worked in the newspaper publishing business for many years, followed by doing medical transcription at Broadlawns. She enjoyed entertaining and playing music. Her family was especially important to her.
Dolores is survived by her children: Terry (Helen) Summy of Kansas City, Kay Bartelt of Earlham, Kenny (Dixie) Summy of Earlham, and Karla (Fred) Day of Stuart; eleven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Shirley Clarke of Altoona, Patty Tollari of Perry, Linda Tollari of Des Moines, Arlo Dunbar of Council Bluffs, and Judy Bohnet of Groveport, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; son, Kevin Summy; and sisters, Audrey Crabbs and Joyce Dunbar.
