C. W. OSCAR MEYER DIED LAST WEEK

Passed Away Last Wednesday Evening, October 21, At William Ackerman Home

C. W. Oscar Meyer, 79, passed away Wednesday evening, October 21, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Ackerman. Mr. Meyer had enjoyed good health until a short time ago. He spent one week at a hospital in South Dakota after which he returned to the Ackerman home.

Short services conducted by Rev. Peter Bock and attended by old friends and neighbors were held at the Ackerman home Friday. The remains were taken to George, Iowa, Saturday where services were held at the Hope Reform Church. He was laid to rest beside his wife.

Clarence William Oscar Meyer was born April 23, 1857 at Bremen, Germany. He grew up to young manhood near his birthplace. At the age of 17 he came to America and located in Butler county, Iowa.

In the year of 1881 he was united in marriage to Fannie Klingenborg who preceded him in death on May 4, 1894. Of this union three children survive, namely: Mrs. Mary Bloomgarden of Pipestone, Minnesota, Mrs. Gertie Ackerman of Earlham and George J. Meyer of Aplington, Iowa. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and a half sister, Mrs. Augusta Millihan of Brooklyn, Connecticut.
