DEATH OF MRS. VIOLA NELSON

Paralytic Stroke is Fatal to Long-Time Resident of Winterset

Death came suddenly to Mrs. Viola Nelson, long-time resident of Winterset, last Thursday, as the result of a paralytic stroke. She was 79 years of age.

The deceased was born Viola Octave Fuller, daughter of David and Caroline Fuller, on November 23, 1856, in Jasper county. She married A. S. Nelson at Monroe, on April 15, 1875. They were the parents of five sons and a daughter. The husband and three sons preceded her in death.

Except for five years in Nebraska, she spent her entire life in Iowa. She united with the Friends church at the age of 16, and served it throughout her life.

The deceased is survived by her daughter, Gertrude Farrow of Los Angeles. California, and two sons, Porter J. Nelson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Otto Nelson of Winterset; as well as 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Tidrick funeral home in Winterset in charge of the Rev. W. B. Tarr. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
