Barbara Elizabeth Taylor, 94, of St. Charles, died Sunday, January 25th at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Carroll Taylor, parents, Theodore Benjamin Porter and Nellie Elizabeth (Tibbets) Porter, infant brother Willard, brothers Vernon and Richard Porter, sisters Dorothy (Capps) and Maxine (Davis)
Surviving are one sister Marilyn Jean Irelan of Ottumwa, Iowa; son Don Carroll Taylor (Diane), West Des Moines, Iowa; daughter Kaye Elizabeth Garland (Larry Hudak), Johnstown, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Michelle Veloso (Roberto), Annapolis, Maryland; Stephanie Lowery (John), Riva, Maryland; Erik Taylor, West Des Moines, Iowa; Courtney White (Bob) Osceola, Iowa, five great grandchildren: Kaitlin Taylor, Waverly, Iowa; Martin Veloso, Annapolis, Maryland; Beatrice, Henry and James Lowery, Riva, Maryland; Sullivan White, Osceola, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a kind, loving and unselfish wife and mother. She often worked outside the home to supplement family income. She loved being outdoors, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was one of God's "ordinary" people and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the St. Charles Parish Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from, 3:00 to 6:00 at Kale Funeral home in Osceola. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM at the Rock Creek Cemetery near Hedrick, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the St. Charles Parish Church in St. Charles, Iowa.
