REX HAYMOND, Winterset

Rex Haymond, 95, of Winterset, Iowa, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.

Rex was born on November 26, 1919, at Madison County, Iowa to Carl and Esther (Huffman) Haymond. He spent his lifetime in Madison County and was a lifetime farmer. Rex was a 1936 graduate of Macksburg High School. On April 13, 1941 he married Rosalie Givan at Wesley Chapel Church in Madison County. Rex was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, was past director of M & W Farm Service and former member of the Winterset IOOF Lodge.

Rex is survived by his son, Gary (Kathleen) Haymond of Iowa City; daughter, Marcia (Oran) Wingler of Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law, Elaine Boyer Haymond of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer Sterling, Todd Wingler, Alison Wingler, Kimberley Haymond Baker, Andrea Haymond-Tang, Amanda Haymond, and Angie Haymond; and great grandchildren, Gabrielle Wingler, Grace Wingler, Joshua Gow, Faith Hiatt, Matthew Sterling, Abigail Sterling, Cormac Haymond-Tang, Liam Haymond-Tang, and Rowan Haymond-Tang.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Esther (Huffman) Haymond; wife, Rosalie Haymond; son, Marvin Haymond; and brothers, Chester Haymond and Merle Haymond.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM at the First United Methodist Church with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 PM. Memorials given to the family will be directed to the First United Methodist Church or the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
