Thursday, August 24, 1922Ben Bast, resident of the Earlham neighborhood for many years, died at his home in Stuart Tuesday after an illness of long duration, which originated in a severe attack of pneumonia many months ago.
Ben was in town about a month ago greeting his friends and seemed to be in fairly good health and excellent health at that time. Tuberculosis was present, however, and rapidly undermined his once powerful constitution.
Funeral services are being held today.
