Arminta Elisabeth Windom was born October 3, 1861 in East St. Louis, Ill. Her mother died while she was only a child and she made her home with her grandmother until she grew to womanhood. Her father married again, and the family moved to Detroit, Mich.

While living there, she was united in marriage to Stephen Hill and remained in Detroit for several years.

To this union was born one daughter, Annie Luella, in 18--. In 1893 Mr. Hill died, leaving the wife and daughter alone.

In 1894 she was united in marriage to Mr. John W. Stevens of Toledo, Ohio, and in the following year came to Earlham, Iowa where she has resided for many years.

About eight years ago she moved to Dexter where she has lived ever since.

On coming to Earlham, she united with the Presbyterian church; but later transferred her membership to Dexter.

Mrs. Stevens took sick three weeks ago and gradually grew worse until death relieved her suffering, Oct. 21, at the age of 68 years and 13 days. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Wykoff, of Earlham.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Earlham Presbyterian church, with Rev. Peter Bock officiating. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.

Earlham

The death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Wycoff Friday noon, of Mrs. Minta Stevens, a highly respected citizen, who had reached the age of 63 years. Mrs. Stevens had been in failing health for some time prior to her death, and she gradually grew weaker, until she passed peacefully away.

Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Lois, Mrs. Harry Wycoff, to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. Peter Bock officiating. Interment in the Earlham cemetery.
