Word was received here Saturday, of the death of J. R. Patterson, of Massena. Mr. Patterson had suffered a stroke of paralysis about three years ago and hadn't enjoyed good health since. The past week he had been confined to his home but seemed to be improving when he was again stricken and only lived a few minutes. He was in the mercantile business here for several years and had made a host of friends, who will be sorry to learn of his death.
