Andy Anderson, St. Charles
August 29, 1932 - October 29, 2014

Andy Anderson, 82, of St. Charles, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 3 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Sunday, November 2 at Ochiltree Funeral Service, where family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Andy’s family.

LaVern Roger “Andy” Anderson was born August 29, 1932 in Lake Mills, Iowa to Christ and Wilma (Moe) Anderson. He graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1950 and served two tours in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Loken on August 15, 1954 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, Minnesota. Four children were born to this union, Diane, Jim, Stephanie and Amy.

Andy worked as a scale house manager for Schildberg Construction for 24 years and later worked for the State Highway Commission in Martensdale. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, the American Legion and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Andy is survived by his wife Beverly of St. Charles; children, Diane (Rick) Fitch of St. Charles, Jim (Theresa) Anderson of St. Charles, Stephanie Dohmen-Freisen (Mike Freisen) of Des Moines, and Amy (Dave) Jurgensen of Prole; seven grandchildren, Nikki Massey, Katie (David) Merlo, Brian Fitch, Kelly (Dan) Engelman, Josh (Amy) Anderson, Mark (Jenn) Dutcher, and Gentry Jurgensen; fourteen great-grandchildren, Emily, Joseph, Madelynne, Noah, Isaiah, Ella, Sam, Lila, Elliot, Mirabella, Ava, Trevor, Hope, and Kaylee; a sister Doris (James) Tweed of Lake Mills; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arden and Don Anderson; and a sister, Phyllis Anderson.
