MARGUERITE MARIE HERRICK, Indianola

Services for Marguerite Marie Herrick, 97, who passed Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at The Village in Indianola will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, November 1 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with visitation held from 11 to Noon on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow services in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Marguerite was born September 23, 1917 in Union Twp., Madison County, Iowa to Patrick and Kathrine Morrissey. Marguerite graduated from Winterset High School in 1935. Her early occupations included working at Madison County AAA Farm Program and Hartley Law Office in Winterset. In 1949 she was appointed Deputy Clerk of Madison County and in 1954 she was elected Clerk of Court for Madison County serving until 1969. She married 5th Judicial District Court Judge M. C. Herrick on January 2, 1970. After his retirement, they enjoyed wintering in Sun City, AZ.

Marguerite especially enjoyed cooking, and being a homemaker. She was a member of St Thomas Aquinas Church in Indianola, IA and St. Joachim & St. Anne’s Church in Sun City, AZ. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Village for the loving care given to Marguerite the past three years.

She is survived by her three step-children: Allan (Carolyn) Herrick of Indianola, IA; Pamela (Darrell) Hines of Windsor Heights, IA; and Sarah (Jim) Keegan of Manning, IA; their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Herrick, her parents, four brothers: Bernard, Henry, James, & Phillip Morrissey; and three sisters: Cecelia Bridenstine, Dorothy Hochstetler, & Ruth Klemm.
