Page 3, Column 4Jacob A. Way was born in St. Charles, Madison county, Iowa, September 12, 1873, and lived in that county until he was about 39 years old. During his young manhood he taught school, later entering politics in his home county. He was elected assessor for one term, following which he served two terms as Clerk of the District court of Madison county.
Not long after the expiration of his second term in the Clerk’s office, Mr. Way came to Omaha and took up life insurance work with the Commonwealth of Nebraska. This was in April 1912, and Mr. Way continued with that company for nine years, until the spring of 1921, when he signed a contract as agent for The Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York, at the Omaha agency, and was with them right up to the time of his death.
Mr. Way is survived by his wife and three boys, Harold, 19, Howard, 14, and Herbert, 13. To them his sudden demise was a most crushing blow, and the hearts of the numberless friends of the family reach out in tenderest sympathy to the stricken wife and sons.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon, February 13, from the First M.E. church, of which Mr. Way was a member and interment was made in Forest Lawn cemetery.
