DONALD LEE BRASCH, JR., Adel

Donald "Donnie" Lee Brasch Jr., 49, of Adel passed away at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Center in Perry on Monday, August 25, 2014. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6th at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints in Waukee beginning at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Church. Immediately following the service family and friends are invited into fellowship hall to share refreshments and memories of Donnie. Burial will take place after the luncheon at the McDonald Chase Cemetery in rural Winterset.

Donald Lee Brasch Jr. was born on May 19, 1965 in Des Moines to Donald Lee Brasch Sr.and Beverly McVey. He attended various schools and was a very active in life as a child. Following school Donnie worked hard as a roofer and was good with his hands. He had a great love for life, the outdoors, but most of all he loved his cat Maggie that he had for 24 years. He had many hobbies but those he enjoyed most were fishing, gardening, roofing, watching fireworks, building rockets and firing them off, building stereos, camping, listening to music from Abba to Elvis music was special, yard work, and as a child he loved spending time in Murray, Iowa with his grandparents and watching the trains to by.

Those left to cherish his memories are his Mother Beverly McVey and step-father Roger McVey; father Donald Lee Sr.; brothers Daniel Brasch, William Anderson Jr., and Calvin Brasch; sister Melissa Harris; aunts and uncles Phil (Mary) Cox, Phyllis (Larry) Krugler, Joyce (Tom) Keeran, Kenny (Brenda) Cox, and Herb Cox; special friends Kelly and Michael Croft; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Frank (Margaret) Cox, Ralph (Jessie) Cox, and his step mother Wilma Brasch.
