Linda Borne, 62, of Adel died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Adel United Methodist Church, with burial at the Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Linda Borne Memorial Fund at Peoples Bank in Adel.
Linda was born to William and Dorine Beem on Sept. 23, 1951. Growing up in Carlisle and Des Moines, she learned very young how to be a fighter. She graduated from East High in Des Moines and worked at Lutheran Hospital. She met the love of her life, Carl Borne, and they married on March 24, 1972. Taking a step to achieve the American Dream, they moved to Adel, Iowa. She helped Carl start his own business while raising three children. She was a member of the Adel United Methodist Church and active as custodian, board member of the preschool, and worked in the Sunday school department.
She is preceded in death by her mother Dorine, father William, and brother Willard.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Carl; her children, Carl, Matthew (Amy) and Sarah; grandchildren, Tobias and Truman; brother, Bill; sister, Marie; many nieces and nephews, plus many more people that over the years adopted her as a second mom, sister, and daughter. Never truly knowing how many people she touched, she will be missed by many.
