MR. LLOYD RICHARD REED, son of Frank and Mary Vesta (Linard) Reed was born on June 3, 1934 at Peru, Iowa and departed this life on Wednesday, June 20, 1988 in the Baptist Memorial hospital in Kansas City, Missouri after a short illness. He was at the time of his passing, 54 years, 1 month and 17 days of age.

As a young man, he grew up in the Prairie Grove community and attended the Cowden and Kelley grade schools. He graduated from Buffalo High School. He then entered the military services in the United States Army from 1953 until 1957.

He worked in manufacturing in the State of Georgia before returning to Kansas City, Missouri where he went to work for Ford Motor Co. He later weent (went) to work for the Allied Bendex Corp in the maintenance department where he has worked for the past 27 years.

He loved his Lord and Savior and as a young man united with the Buffalo Methodist church where he remained a member until his passing.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Lowe on October 27, 1962 and their home was blessed with four children, all of whom survive him.

He was preceded in death by his father, A. Frank Reed.

He leaves in his passing, his wife, Joyce, of the home. 1 daughter: Brenda Brenner, Round Rock, Texas, 3 sons: Robert E., Kenneth F. and Charles A., all of Belton, Mo. his mother: Mary Vesta Reed, Buffalo, Mo., 4 brothers, Phillip and Ernest, both of Buffalo, Mo., Dale, Eldorado Springs, Mo and Claire, Richmond, Mo., 2 sisters: Doris Stanton, Lee Summitt, Mo. and Alice Ovitt, Plano, Ill. Also 2 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 1988 in the Buffalo United Methodist church with the Rev. John Appling officiating. Mrs. Sandy Hatfield sang, "How Great Thy Art" and "Amazing Grace" accompanied by Mrs. Marlene Clanton, organist.

Interment was in the Oak Lawn cemetery under the directions of the Cantlon Funeral Home.

Transcriber's note: Transcribed as published, Mary Vesta's maiden name was "Leinard". Military service was until 1956. Lloyd worked for the Allied "Bendix" Corp.
