Departed on May 28, 2014 and resided in Earlham,IaHelen Louise Ludwick, 93, of Earlham passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be held from 3-6 P.M. on Sunday, June 1st at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Earlham. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 2nd at the Earlham Friends Church. Burial will be at the Earlham Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Earlham Friends Church, Earlham Fire and Rescue or Unity Pointe Hospice, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 171, Earlham, Iowa 50072. Helen Louise Wilson was born on December 7, 1920 in rural Earlham, Iowa to Frank J and Olive DeVault Wilson. She started 1st grade at Penn Township No. 8, then went to Earlham consolidated school in 2nd grade through 4th grade, went to Penn # 6 in 5th grade until 8th grade where she than attended and graduated from Earlham Consolidated School in May 20, 1938.
She worked several places in Des Moines. Helen started working at the Earlham Post office on June 1, 1942. In September of 1972, she transferred to the Main Post Office in Des Moines, Iowa where she was #2 on seniority list. After 37 years of service, she retired from the U.S. Postal Service on August 22, 1980.
On April 1, 1944, Helen married Glen Ludwick and they were the parents of a daughter, Bonnie Sue. Helen lived in Earlham all of her life.
Helen was a birthright member of the Earlham Friends Church and faithfully served as an organist and church treasurer for many years. After retirement, she especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events, traveling throughout the United States, as well as two trips to Europe. She especially enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the flowers grow around the home that she shared with her daughter, Bonnie.
In November 1999, she sold her home and moved in with her daughter. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Watching the birds and all the flowers grow.
Helen passed away May 28, 2014.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Wayne Koboldt and brother and sister –in-law Floyd and Margaret Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Wetrich of Earlham; grandchildren: Mike and Kathy, Steve and Rita, Ron and Christy, Dan Wetrich, Susan and Chris; twenty-one great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces Betty Easley and Nancy Basart, nephew Bruce (Mary) Koboldt, and Cousins Mary (Don) Hauschildt and Marge (Russ) Lowe.

Helen Louise Ludwick, 93, of Earlham passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at her home.
