Apr. 8, 1919 - Apr. 17, 2014Zelma Libby, 95, of Winterset, Iowa, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Winterset Care Center South in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 21, 2014, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery at Winterset.
Zelma was born on April 8, 1919 at Madison County, Iowa to Cliff and Gertie (DeBok) Harrell. She was married on February 22, 1938 at Winterset, Iowa, to Harold Clarence Libby. Zelma had been a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Madison County. She had been a charter member of the Hoosier Prairie Club, Buffalo Gals, and a member of the Women's Farm Bureau.
Zelma is survived by her sons, Phil (Sharon) Libby of Winterset and Steve (Sue) Libby of Indianola; daughter, Becky Comp of Dayton; sisters, Margaret Guthrie of Norwalk and Jackie (Delbert) Trevillyan of Winterset; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Cari) Fitzgerald, Kurt (Amy) Fitzgerald, Kim Fitzgerald, Dan (Aida) Libby, Tony (Michelle) Comp, Chad (Larissa) Libby, and Ryan (Jessica) Libby; and twelve great grandchildren, Leah Fitzgerald, Chase Fitzgerald, A.J. Fitzgerald, Austin Fitzgerald, Carson Fitzgerald, Valerie Libby, Sam Comp, Max Comp, Will Comp, Michael Pearson, Taylor Libby, and Bailey Libby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Gertie (DeBok) Harrell; husband, Harold C. Libby; daughter, Ann Fitzgerald and husband Stan; son-in-law, Terry Comp; brothers, Delbert Harrell, Cliff Harrell, Jr., and Bob Harrell; and sister, Alma Duff.
Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time on Monday at McCalley-Collns Funeral Home.
Memorials given to the family will be directed to Winterset Care Center South Activity Fund.
