Thursday, November 22, 1900Ruth Ann, daughter of Michael and Mahulda Gabbert, was born in Madison county, Iowa, February 20, 1865, and died at her home November 9, 1900. Ruth was one of those choice spirits that fills a home with sunshine. She had learned to love and trust her saviour, being converted when she was twenty years of age. Shortly afterward she united with the Christian church at DeSoto, Iowa, but in March 1900, changed her membership to the M.E. church at Fairview. Sister Ruth has been a constant sufferer for five years. During her illness she exhibited a spirit of remarkable patience and cheerfulness, exerting a sweet influence which was an inspiration to many. She lived a true, Christian life, and many were the beautiful lessons that were learned from her. In her love and devotion to God and the church, she made great effort to attend its means of grace which always caused her much weariness and suffering. Her last hours were triumphant in a victorious faith. In her last words, she gave a description of her future home as it appeared to her as being the good, the true, and beautiful.
She passed into the glorious beyond peacefully and without a struggle. R.
