Page 1Mary Elizabeth Foster was born at Centerville, Michigan, October 14th, 1833, and died April 2d, 1909, aged 75 years, 5 months and 18 days.
She was one of the pioneers of Madison County, coming to Madison County in an early day, settling on what is known as the old Potter farm, north of Patterson.
In her early life she was a member of the M.E. Church at Patterson, but later united with the Baptist church in Winterset.
She was married to William Ferrall, Dec. 25th, 1860. To this union was born three children, two of whom, with their father, have preceded her to the better land.
Besides her friends and relatives who mourn her loss, she leaves one son, William James and one sister, Mrs. Sarah McConnelee of Truro, Iowa.
________________________Coordinator's note: Transcribed as published, per vital records, the deceased's maiden name appears to be "Potter" and not "Foster". Per Madison County Death Records, she was buried in the "North Patterson Cemetery", commonly called the "Montpelier Cemetery".
