She with her parents moved to Jacksonburg, Ohio, in 1831, and from there to Lewisburg, Ohio, in 1835. In 1839 she went to Randolph county, Ind., to visit her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Gibbs and while there was married to Eli Miller, June 18, 1840. They then moved to Benton county, Iowa, and from there to Story county, Iowa, and in 1855 they moved back to Howard county, Ind., and lived there until 1861, then they moved back to Madison county, Iowa, on a farm and after becoming too old to remain on the farm, they bought property in Hanley, a small town, and remained there until the death of her husband, which occurred August 30, 1906. She then lived with her daughter, Mrs. Nixon, eight months. From there she went and lived with her son, Elias, until death called her away.
Six children were born to her. The two older boys, Joseph H. and John T. Miller, preceded her to the land of eternal rest. The two oldest daughters and two youngest sons, Sarah M. Nixon, of Hanley, Joel W. Miller, of Truro, and Elias Miller, of near Hanley, all being at the funeral. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Donaldson, of New Richmond, Ohio, a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn their loss.
Mrs. Miller was converted at the age of sixteen and joined the Christian church, and later joined the Methodist church and continued a consistent member of the same during a long and useful life. She and her husband having been pioneers, both in the church and in the building up of this part of our state. ------A Friend.
