Simon W. Corsbie was born May 16, 1830, in Morgan county, Indiana and departed this life April 2, 1913 at his home in St. Charles, aged 83 years, 10 months and 16 days.
He was married to Miriam Dooley, May 28, 1854. To this union were born seven children, four sons and three daughters. Mrs. Corsbie died in 1907. Three children, Mary J. Ellis, T. C. and W. L. Corsbie remain to mourn the death of their father. - - - - - - -
He enlisted in Co. B 10th Iowa infantry in September 1861 and served until discharged for disability in 1863. In November 1912 he met with a serious accident, from which he never recovered and that and infirmities incident to old age, caused his death.
