Christine as she was known by her family and friends was born August 22, 1925 in Pulaski, Virginia to Floyd and Harrie (Trail) Dickerson. She grew up in Pulaski and graduated from Pulaski High School. After graduating, Christine was employed as a secretary for the FBI in Washington DC. She met Donald Madsen when he was stationed in Washington and they were later married on July 7, 1945 in Spencer Iowa. To this union two children were born, Deloris and Nancy. After their marriage they lived in Spencer and Earlham before making their home on a farm outside of Cumming. Together she and her husband worked on their farm. Donald preceded her in death in 1995 and after his passing Christine continued living on the farm until three weeks ago when she moved in with her daughter in Earlham. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, gardening, flowers, watching Dr. Harold E. Salem and reading her Bible daily. She also enjoyed traveling and was proud to be able to have traveled to every state as well as Hawaii and Australia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Hattie Dickerson, her beloved husband, Donald in 1995 and one daughter, Nancy Moore in 2004.
Christine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Deloris (Donald) Applegate of Earlham; grandson, Daniel Applegate of Earlham; son-in-law, Dennis Moore of Davenport and a host of relatives and friends all of whom will miss her greatly. (Arrangements: Johnson Family Funeral Home – Stuart chapel).
