Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock for Mrs. Ada Brown at the Earlham Methodist church, Rev. O. E. Olson of Dexter in charge. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
Ada L. Powell, daughter of Ruel and Jane Goff Powell was born March 11, 1881 on a farm south of DeSoto, Iowa. She was the ninth child of 12 children. She passed away in Indianola, Iowa on December 3rd, 1950 at the age of 69 years, eight months and 22 days.
Early in childhood she was united with the Methodist church in Earlham. On December 24, 1902 she was united in marriage to Bradley Brown. To this union three sons and one daughter was born.
Living a true Christian life, she was a devoted mother and was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are her children, Harold Brown of Dexter; Lloyd Brown of Semi, California; Velma Emmerts of Fonda, Iowa; and Wilbur Brown of Dallas Center, Iowa.
Thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild, one brother, Ben Powell of Orlanda, California, two sisters, Blanch Neff of Fullerton, California, and Beulah Hibbs of Winterset also survive. Also a host of nieces and nephews.
