Earlham Echo – Earlham, Iowa
March 1911The funeral of Eddie Lippincott was held last Wednesday afternoon at the Friends Church, Rev. Johnson of the Methodist Episcopal Church, presiding. The funeral sermon as directed by the text “There is only a step between life and death,” was a most impressive one, emphasizing that tenderness of the cord the binds humanity to the mortal sphere. The sermon was also a touching tribute to the man whose life was a not a tragedy but whose spirit resisted the dark incubus which destiny --- bequeathed him, and caused him to live a life of uprightness illumined by a fine fidelity to his mother.
The church was almost filled by the people who gathered to pay a last tribute of respect. The floral pieces were exceptionally beautiful. Interment was made in Earlham cemetery.
