Grandma Davis past away Saturday morning about six o'clock and the funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett of Winterset.

Jane (Kunkle) Davis was born in Indiana county, Penn., July 18th, 1831. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Davis, March 6, 1856. Removed to Iowa in 1867. She resided for a number of years in Warren county and then came to Madison county, where she has since lived till the time of her death, which occurred Saturday morning, Jan. 12th, 1907.

She united with the Presbyterian church, when a girl about sixteen years of age, and has been faithful in the faith of her Master till the summons called her home. She had reached the ripe age of seventy-five years, five months and twenty-six days.

She leaves to mourn their loss, two sons and two daughters, one daughter having died in August, 1883, nine grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett, of the Christian church at Winterset, from the M.E. church at Patterson at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon, and the remains were laid to rest in the Montpelier cemetery.
