Dale William Strawn, 95, of St. Charles, IA died Monday October 21, 2013. He was born in St. Charles April 1, 1918, the son of the late Charles and Jessie Strawn.
Dale served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945 and was the recipient of a purple heart. He retired after 30 years with John Deere.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rosemary Strawn; two sons Richard and his wife Sharon of Tampa , Florida and Timothy and his wife Deborah of Roanoke, Virginia, one sister, Wilmarie McDonald of St Charles and one brother, Wayne Strawn of St Charles. Dale had 4 grandchildren, 9 great grand children and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday October 26th at St Charles Parish for family and friends.
