Death of Everett Huffman

Everett Huffman of Webster township died April 6th, at his home and was buried in the Wight cemetery on Saturday, following funeral services at Maple Grove church. Mr. Huffman’s death came as a result of influenza. Mrs. Huffman, who was Miss Pearl Mitchell before marriage, and three sons survive him. Mr. Huffman was a young man of fine character, much esteemed by his friends and his death at the early age of 33 years is a sorrow to the community.

Everett W. Huffman died at his home in Webster township, April 6th, following a three weeks illness of pneumonia. He was born in Guthrie county, Oct. 10, 1888, at the time of his death his age being 33 years, 6 months and 26 days.

All his life was spent in Madison county, except one year. He received his education in the Winterset schools and graduated with the class of 1911.

On Nov. 25, 1914, he was married to Miss Pearl Mitchell and to this union three sons were born: George Jr., 6 years; Dean, 3 years; and Raymond, 17 months. His mother passed away when he was 6 years old.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his father, George Huffman; three sisters: Mrs. Mary Klingaman, Mrs. Amanda Roy, Mrs. Ether Haymond and one brother, Walker G.; and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at Maple Grove church April 8th at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Hendricks, pastor of the church, and the body was laid to rest in the Wight cemetery.
