'This is a part of the article as the other information did not pertain to Mr. Richmond.'

Mr. Richmond who lived at 11765 W. 13th Ave. in Lakewood, was killed after he lost control of his car while driving down Colorado 119, the Boulder Canyon Road.

His car careened off the side of the highway and into Boulder Creek, slipping sideways 80 feet to make the 30 foot drop. Death actually was caused by drowning in the streams 4 feet of turbulent waters. But Deputy Coroner Norman Howe said the death was attributed to the accident and the State Patrol officially listed it as a highway accident.

Rex Hursey of 1122 Acoma st., credited for, identified youths with averting a second death in the Boulder Creek tragedy. He said he was driving behind the youths who were accompanied by two young women in a Denver car, when they stopped at the scene of the accident.

Mr. Hursey said they waded to the two thirds submerged death car to rescue Mr. Richmond's wife, Susan, 74, now in serious shock at Boulder Community Hospital.

Only her head was visible above the water and the car was teetering on a rock ledge in the Creek and could have been swept downstream at any moment.

The youths then returned to the rampaging waters to retrieve Mr. Richmond's body.
