Page 3Sybil Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall E. Adams, was born in Rising City, Nebr., Nov. 13, 1886, and passed away at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines about noon of Aug. 13, 1921, aged 34 years and 9 months.
She resided at her birthplace until she was 8 years old, when she removed with her father and grandparents to Kansas; her mother having passed away when she was but five weeks old.
She grew to womanhood near Abilene, Kans., and at the age of 2- years was united in marriage to Frank Ham. The following year they moved to Lorimor, Iowa, where they have made their home since that time, making a host of friends in whatever community they have lived.
For the past seven years Mr. Ham has been a very patient sufferer. On Aug. 12, she was taken to the hospital, where it was hoped she would find some relief, however, it was not to be, for she never survived the shock of the operation and the end came very suddenly.
Mrs. Ham leaves to mourn her early death, her devoted husband and three sons: Emory, 12; Elmer, 9, and Elwood, 7; her father, Marshall E. Adams; a brother Ray Adams of Topeka, Kans.; besides many other relatives and a host of friends and neighbors. Those who have known Mrs. Ham knew her as a kind and loving wife and a most dutiful mother, and as a neighbor, one who was ready and willing to help and assisted in any worthy cause to the limit of her ability, and we know that she will be sadly missed.
A large number of relatives and sympathizing friends attended the funeral services, which were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home northwest of Peru. The services were conducted by Rev. Kirkland. Interment took place in the Peru cemetery.
