October 30, 1920 - August 10, 2013Dana William Harper, the son of John and Verdia (Gilbert) Harper, was born on October 30, 1920 in Walnut Township, Madison County, Iowa. He passed away at his home on Saturday August 10, 2013 at the age of ninety-two years, nine months, and eleven days.
Dana went to country school through the 8th grade. He was a life-long farmer. On September 4, 1940, Dana was united in marriage with Eunice Austin in Grant City, Missouri. Dana and Eunice had one daughter, Mary Ann. Dana enjoyed Country music, as long as it wasn’t “too Country”.
Dana is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Dick) Nelson and granddaughter Tina Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, John (Sandra) Harper; niece, Donna (Tom) Tuttle; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eunice, and one brother, Don.
Funeral Services for Dana will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2013.
