VICKI JO STANFORD, Winterset

Vicki Jo Stanford, 55, of Winterset, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at her residence in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, July 8, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery at Winterset.

Vicki was born on April 8, 1958, at Winterset, Iowa to Larry and Twyla (Hoeness) Jackson. Vicki graduated from Winterset High School in 1976 and then went on to complete her business degree from the American Institute of Business (AIB) in Des Moines in 1978. She was a lifetime resident of Winterset and was an executive assistant at Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance in West Des Moines, where is had worked for 33 years. Vicki was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset where she was an organist and church treasurer. She, along with members of her family, organized the church’s community Thanksgiving dinner for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Vicki is survived by her mother, Twyla (Hoeness) Jackson; husband, Chris Stanford of Winterset; children, Angela J. (Matt) Lahr of Waukee, Andrea J. (Brian) Reynolds of Yelm, Washington; step-children, Jason (Lindsay) Stanford of Adel and Kelli (Ryan Gordon) Stanford of Grimes; brothers, Jeff E. (Donna) Jackson of Winterset and Eric (Kristi) Jackson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Kayden Lahr, Bradley Lahr, Hunter Reynolds, Kennedy Stanford, Cael Stanford, Karsyn Stanford, and Madisyn Gordon; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Jackson.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. In lieu flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.
