Charles S. Hudson, son of Martin Luther Hudson and Laura Goshorn Hudson, was born February 7, 1891 at Winterset, Iowa and passed away at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital at Hebron, Nebraska on September 24, 1980 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 14 days.

As a very small child he was brought by his parents to their farm northeast of Chester, where he grew up and spent his entire life. He attended school through the 10th grade, and then continued to live the life of a farmer-cattleman where he raised registered horses and polled shorthorn cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Mrs. Lucille Bozarth and Mrs. Isis Sutton, and one brother, Glen.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are one brother, Tom, who still resides on their home place near Chester; a brother-in-law, Frank Bozarth of Sterling, Colo.; nephew, Stuart Sutton of Chester, Ne. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 26, 1980 at 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church of Christ of Chester, Nebraska, conducted by Rev. Charles Mitchell. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery. Organist for the service was Mrs. Charles Kleveland with music provided by Mrs. Maurice Mitchell and Mrs. Jack Long. Honorary casket bearers were Lester Hayes, Adolph Firley, W.I. Navis, Roy Posey, Claude Brenn and Walter Lubben. Casket bearers were Albert Firley, James Posey, Kieth Frye, William Brenn, Dan Everhart and Harry Wiedel.
