June 6, 1956 - March 23, 2013

Lila J. Dorrell, 56, of Lorimor passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 28, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.

A visitation will be held 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the funeral home, with family present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the JDRF -Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, (3580 E.P. True Parkway, Suite 101, West Des Moines, Iowa 50265).

Lila Joy Rozenboom was born June 6, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Hoekstra) Rozenboom. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1974. She married Ron Dorrell Jr. on September 21, 1974 in Des Moines and to this union her two sons were born.

She worked for a time at Joe Grahams Printing, Health Trust Physicians Clinic, Earlham Home Care, and most recently as an administrative assistant for Grip-Tite Manufacturing.

Lila loved to quilt and cross-stitch and was very talented at both. She was a member of the Honey Bee Quilters and JUGS (Just Us Girls Stitching). Lila especially loved her grandkids and any time spent with them.

Lila is survived by her parents Henry and Mary Rozenboom; two sons, Greg Dorrell (Heidi) and Doug Dorrell (Hannah) both of Winterset; a sister, Judy Lange (John) of Linn Creek, MO; a brother, Mark Rozenboom (Lynne Evans) of Altoona; companion, Richard Anderson of Lorimor; two grandchildren, Devin and Emma Dorrell, and one on the way. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
