J. Guy Smith, a former St. Charles resident, died Friday, February 26th at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines at the age of 79 years. Mr. Smith, a retired salesman, was born in Newburn and made his home in Des Moines after leaving St. Charles. He is survived by his widow, Veta; two sons, Robert of Hamilton, N.Y. and Stanley of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Bell Brenaman of Denver, Colo. and five grandchildren. Services were held Monday morning at 10:00 o’clock at the St. Charles cemetery.
