MARILYN FAE SOUR, Winterset

October 9, 1932 - March 7, 2013

Marilyn Fae (Shepherd) Sour, 80, of Winterset, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at her home. 
 
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 4 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with burial in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to AHeinz57 Pet Rescue, Box 188 De Soto, Iowa 50069. 

Marilyn Fae Shepherd was born October 9, 1932 in Pleasantville, Iowa to Wilton and Lenore (Snook) Shepherd.  She was a devoted mother raising her three children, Nan, Kelly and John. She also worked as a school secretary for the Patterson and Scott Township Schools. Later she worked as a Clerk in the Madison County Treasurer’s Office for about twenty years retiring in 1997.

Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church and her greatest joys were her grandchildren. She also loved dogs and NASCAR.
 
 She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Freeman of Winterset; son, John Sour and wife, Angie of Winterset; and two grandchildren, Katie Evans and husband, Jeffrey of Marshalltown and Sam Sour of Winterset. 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Nan Easterly; a son-in-law, Everett Freeman and her brother, Marvin Shepherd.
