Bek Services Held

A lifetime resident of Madison County, Ernestine Mary Bek, 62, died at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on July 24.

Daughter of Charles E. and Jennie L. Newerf Handel, Mrs. Bek was born October 11, 1915 in Madison County. She was joined in marriage to Carl J. Bek in Indianola on April 26, 1946.

A member of the World Wide Church of God, Mrs. Bek and her husband farmed at Rural Route 1, St. Charles.

Survivors include her husband, daughter Annabel Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, and Nicholas and Jane at home; also her brother Ralph Handel of Mt. Vernon, Indiana.

Mr. Bob Lehmkuhl officiated at the service held Thursday, July 27, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was made at Union Chapel Cemetery in South township.
